
UNCTAD Modern Port Management Module 3 Underway at MPL
Exploring Functioning of Port System
Malé, 7 June 2026 – Module 3 of the UNCTAD Modern Port Management Couse, focusing on the Functioning of Port System, currently underway at Maldives Ports Limited (MPL). The module is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the essential services, operations, and systems that support the management of a port.
During the week participants will be exploring key topics including services rendered to ships and cargo, berth allocation, vessel traffic system, cargo handling operations, storage of goofs and value added port activities.
The module is being led by maritime expert Mr. Paul Hayes, alongside Capt. Hassan Zareer, Hussain Naeem, Hayyan Rasheed Hussain and Aishath Shimla.
This program is part of MPL’s commitment to develop a professional capacity within the maritime sector.
