MPL Staff Undergo Basic Sign Language Training

Initiative Aims to Enhance Communication and Inclusion for Hearing-Impaired Individuals

Malé, 3 December 2025 – Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), in collaboration with the Ministry of Social and Family Development, has conducted a Basic Sign Language session for its staff. The training is part of MPL’s efforts to strengthen communication skills and support for individuals with hearing impairments.

The session provided staff with practical knowledge and hands on practice in basic sign language, equipping them to interact more effectively with hearing impaired colleagues, clients, and visitors.

This initiative aligns with MPL’s broader commitment to promoting an inclusive workplace and fostering accessibility across all its operations. Staff participation in such programs ensures that the company remains attentive to the diverse needs of the community it serves.
